Current Production & Discontinued MCC Components

Motor control centers are among the longest-lived electrical infrastructure in industrial plants. An MCC installed in the 1970s or 1980s may still be in service and require replacement buckets, starter units, and components that were long ago discontinued by the original manufacturer. When that happens, standard distribution has nothing to offer.

Edmundson Industrial supplies current production motor control components (Eaton, Square D, Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and sources discontinued and obsolete MCC buckets, combination starters, and legacy motor control equipment through surplus and specialty inventory channels. If the MCC in your plant is original equipment, send us the nameplate data from the unit that needs replacement and we'll check what's available.

  • Current MCC components: Eaton, Square D, Siemens, Allen-Bradley: standard supply
  • Obsolete MCC buckets: Westinghouse, ITE, Furnas, and discontinued series: sourced
  • Combination starters: FVNR, FVR, reduced voltage, two-speed configurations
  • NEMA and IEC contactors across all frame sizes: current and legacy
  • Overload relays: thermal, electronic, and solid-state types

Motor Control Products We Supply

Motor control applications cover a range of starting methods, control configurations, and motor sizes. These are the product categories we handle most frequently.

MCC Buckets

MCC Starter Buckets & Units

Pre-wired, plug-in motor control units designed for installation into motor control center line-ups. Available for current MCC generations and sourced for discontinued and obsolete MCC families.

  • FVNR (full voltage non-reversing) starter buckets
  • FVR (full voltage reversing) starter buckets
  • Reduced voltage autotransformer starter buckets
  • Two-speed and multi-speed starter buckets
  • Control-only and feeder tap units
  • Legacy bucket replacement: all major MCC families
Contactors

NEMA & IEC Contactors

Motor contactors for across-the-line starting, reversing, and multi-speed applications. NEMA sizes for North American applications; IEC frame sizes for imported and modern equipment.

  • NEMA Size 00 (9A) through Size 9 (2250A)
  • IEC contactors: 9A through 1600A and above
  • Reversing contactor pairs with electrical interlocking
  • Lighting contactors and definite purpose contactors
  • Vacuum contactors for medium voltage applications
  • Coil voltage: 24V, 120V, 240V, 480V AC/DC options
Overload Relays

Overload Relays & Heater Elements

Thermal and electronic overload relays for motor protection. Legacy bimetallic heater elements frequently requested as replacements in older starters and MCC buckets.

  • Thermal bimetallic overload relays: NEMA and IEC
  • Electronic overload relays with adjustable trip class
  • Heater elements for legacy thermal overloads
  • Manual and automatic reset configurations
  • Hand-off-auto (HOA) and trip alarm contacts
  • Motor protection relays: phase loss, unbalance detection
Reduced Voltage Starters

Soft Starters & Reduced Voltage

Reduced voltage starting methods for large motor loads requiring current-limited starts. Autotransformer, part winding, wye-delta, and solid-state soft starter configurations.

  • Solid-state soft starters: Eaton, Siemens, ABB, Schneider
  • Autotransformer reduced voltage starters
  • Wye-delta (star-delta) starters: open and closed transition
  • Part winding starters
  • Bypass contactors and transition controls
  • Legacy RVAT and RVSS replacements: sourced
Combination Starters

Combination Motor Starters

Combination motor starters integrate a disconnecting means, overcurrent protection, and a contactor-overload assembly in a single enclosure. Used in panel-mounted and freestanding applications outside of MCC line-ups.

  • Fusible disconnect combination starters
  • Circuit breaker combination starters (non-fusible)
  • NEMA 1, 3R, 4, 4X, 12 enclosure ratings
  • Single-phase and three-phase motor ratings
  • Manual motor starters (MMS) for smaller motors
  • Open type combination starters for panel mounting
MCC Structure Components

MCC Structural & Bus Components

Replacement structural and bus components for existing MCC line-ups, bus bars, bus plugs, vertical bus covers, incoming line sections, tie sections, and hardware for existing MCC installations.

  • Horizontal and vertical bus bar sections
  • Bus plugs and plug-in bus taps
  • Vertical wireway covers and doors
  • Tie sections and extension sections
  • Bottom and top cable entry plates
  • MCC hardware and fastener kits

Replacing Discontinued MCC Buckets, When the Line-Up Is Staying

Replacing an entire MCC line-up is expensive and disruptive. When a single bucket fails or needs to be upgraded and the rest of the line-up is serviceable, the most cost-effective path is a replacement bucket that fits the existing structure, not a whole-system replacement.

The challenge is that many MCC product lines have been discontinued by the original manufacturer. A plant running Westinghouse Type W MCC, older Square D Model 1 or Model 4 equipment, or Cutler-Hammer before the Eaton consolidation may find that standard distributors can't supply a replacement bucket that fits the existing structure and bus system.

Edmundson Industrial sources replacement buckets for discontinued MCC lines. We need the MCC manufacturer, model designation, bucket type, motor HP or FLA, and voltage to check availability. Photos of the existing unit are helpful, especially the nameplate data from the bucket being replaced.

  • Westinghouse Type W, Series 18, and legacy bucket replacement
  • Cutler-Hammer / Eaton predecessor MCC lines: older series
  • ITE, Furnas, and other discontinued MCC families
  • Square D Model 1, Model 4, and legacy series
  • GE and legacy MCC bucket replacement: as available

What to Provide for an MCC Bucket Quote

The more of this you can provide, the faster and more accurately we can check availability and quote a replacement:

  • MCC manufacturer and model / series designation
  • Bucket type: FVNR, FVR, RV, two-speed, etc.
  • Motor HP rating and full load amps (FLA)
  • Supply voltage: 480V, 240V, 600V, etc.
  • Control voltage: 120V, 24V, or integral
  • Bucket catalog number or part number if available
  • Photos of the nameplate on the existing bucket
  • Photos of the bucket in the MCC (front and interior)
  • Quantity required

How to Order Motor Control Equipment

  1. 01

Identify the Catalog Number or MCC Data

For current-production starters and contactors, the catalog number is the fastest path. For MCC bucket replacements, the MCC line-up manufacturer, model designation, bucket type, HP/FLA, and voltage are the key inputs.

  2. 02

We Check Stock and Sourcing Options

Current lines are checked against active supply. Discontinued MCC buckets and legacy motor control equipment are checked against surplus and specialty inventory. Response includes availability, condition, and pricing.

  3. 03

Quote with Condition and Lead Time

Every quote specifies whether parts are new, surplus, or reconditioned. For sourced units, we describe condition specifically: not just "used." Lead time reflects actual availability, not a general estimate.

  4. 04

    Order and Ship from Houston

Approved quotes proceed to order. In-stock items ship from Houston, TX. Sourced items ship when received from the supply channel. We communicate on ship dates and provide tracking.
